BEIJING (AP) — In a rare case of a Chinese company pulling out of Russia because of war, drone company DJI Technology Co. temporarily suspended business operations in Russia and Ukraine to prevent its drones from being used in combat.

"DJI is internally reassessing compliance requirements in various jurisdictions. Pending the ongoing review, DJI will temporarily suspend all business activities in Russia and Ukraine," the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The AeroScope system installed on DJI drones makes it possible to detect and track other nearby drones and their operators through special receivers. The concern is that the Russians could use the Aeroscope system to attack Ukrainian drone pilots.

China Sends Drone On Solo Mission Near Key Okinawan Waterway For First Time
In March, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov posted an open letter on Twitter to DJI creator and CEO Frank Wang.
